The dates for the Sacramental Programme can be downloaded here. The sacramental programme is parish-based and candidates are expected to attend all the classes, retreats, etc. relevant to their sacrament. We want them to be as well-prepared as possible for these very important celebrations.

Pignatelli Cares was launched by Jenny at the weekend Masses. We have gotten off to a nice start with a good number of volunteers. Thanks to Jenny and to those who signed up. Pignatelli Cares is now on the parish web-site with a 'blurb' composed by la Cogin. Take a look.

Children's Mass

This Sunday, 5 August, the 9.30am will be the scheduled children's Mass. It will also be a special occasion for the children of the parish who made their first communion a month ago: It will be a Mass of Thanksgiving. Come along and join our celebration. Yesterday the presbytery telephone and internet lines were out of service. They have just been repaired. (I have also discovered that the person I thought had given me the Saints scarf was not actually responsible. So I don't know who you are!)

The first afternoon was a great success and the men and women who took part were full of praise for Ciel. These get-togethers will be held fortnightly and so the next will be on 25 July, 1-4pm in the church foyer. All welcome.

Any donations of spare wool, knitting needles, crochet hooks, craft makings, board games or puzzles would be very welcome. Please leave them in the box in the church foyer.

Guidelines for the Pastoral Care of the Road
(issued by Pontifical Council for Migrants and Travellers on 19 June 2007)
I. You shall not kill.
II. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.
III. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.
IV. Be charitable and help your neighbour in need, especially victims of accidents.
V. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.
VI. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.
VII. Support the families of accident victims.
VIII. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.
IX. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.
X. Feel responsible towards others.
