The parish priest is Fr Sean Fernandez. Fr Sean has been in the parish since July 2006. In addition to his parish work he is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Theology and Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame Australia.
Fr Sean was born in Singapore and immigrated here with his family when he was fourteen. He went to St Francis Xavier Seminary in Adelaide and was ordained in 1994 at St Mary's Cathedral, Perth, by Archbishop Hickey. He worked in a few parishes (Whitford, Floreat-Wembley and City Beach) before being sent overseas to pursue further studies. He took a Licence in Sacred Theology (Fundamental Theology) and a Doctorate in Sacred Theology (Dogmatic Theology) at the Pontifical Gregorian University. He was also on the Faculty of Theology of the Gregorian teaching dogma.
